Josie's Date With Death

Written by Lisa Marie Tedesco, Josie's Date With Death is an official selection of the Midnight Film Festival! "When funeral video montage-maker Josie Saint Germain matches with a famous immortal on dating site, Mythical Meetup, the pair decide to go on a date that proves we're all just looking for love. Set with the backdrop of Reno, Nevada, Josie's Date With Death sets a fun tone to awkward first dates - even when the date is with DEATH."

From Lisa's FilmFreeway page: "Lisa is an award-winning New Haven, Connecticut - based filmmaker and artist. She is also the founder of Lady Film Media, operating in New York and Los Angeles.

With her company, and production team, she strives to create content the positively represents women in film, both in front and behind the camera, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Their motto encompasses the words “Breaking All Barriers” and frequently uses the hashtag #RepresentationMatters to enforce the values of diversity in filmmaking.

Her first-ever short film, August in the City, won critical acclaim on the film festival circuit from 2017 all the way up until the present-day, with a screening held at the prestigious Festival de Cannes.

Her second film, House of La Reine, has just hit the film festival circuit and already has two acceptances into national fests.

Tedesco has a passion for screenwriting with several of her works winning awards at various festivals and competitions around the world. Her latest, Dear Emma Your Charlie, about a young woman who finds out about a deeply covered-up secret regarding her late mother while she served in the military overseas during The Gulf War, has been optioned to LA-based production company 163 Films and will begin production in May.

She is hoping to shoot Josie’s Date With Death on location in Reno in early fall."
